Sikkim’s most popular trek to the foot of Mt. Kangchenjunga the 3rd highest peak in the world. Trek from Yoksum to Goechela pass at 5000m. A world of subtropical forests, rhododendron forests, alpine meadows where the hairy yak herds graze to the high valleys surrounded by glaciers and snow capped peaks of the Khangchendzonga range. A trek to one of the last remaining pristine Himalayan wilderness. Best Season: April-June and October-December. Trek Grading: Easy to Difficult. Maximum hiking Altitute: Goechala Pass – 4940m. Starting & Ending Point: Bagdogra or Phuentsoling in Bhutan or Bhadrapur airport in Nepal.

Day 1 :  Drive to Gangtok.
Day 2 :  Sightseeing tour.
Day 3 :  Drive to Yuksom.
Day 4 :  Drive to Tsokha and start trek.
Day 5 :  Trek to Dzongri (4550m/13221ft}.
Day 6 :  Excursion Dzongri La and Rathong Valley.
Day 7 :  Trek to Thangsing (3930m/12467ft.
Day 8 :  Trek to Chemathang (4800m/15748ft.
Day 9 :  Trek to Goecha-La (4940m) – Chemathang.
Day 10 :  Trek to Thansing.
Day 11 :  Trek to Dzongri.
Day 12 :  Trek to Bakhim via Jamlingthang (Zamling Gaon.
Day 13 :  Trek to Yuksom.
Day 14 :  Drive to Darjeeling.
Day 15 :  Sightseeing tour.
Day 16 :  Final departure.

Arrive at Bagdogra airport or New Jalpaiguri railway station and drive to Gangtok. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Full days sightseeing in and around Gangtok which includes the famous Rumtek monastery, Enchey Monastery, Research Institute of Tibetology, Dodrul Chorten, flower Show and the Cottage Industries. Trekking permits will be obtained on this day. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast drive to Yuksom via Rabangla. Transfer to your lodge. Overnight at hotel. Day 04: Trek to Tsokha. The trail now runs through rice wood hills abounding in flora and fauna going, as it does, though moss-laden forests of Oak, Spruce, Chestnut, Fir, Pines, Giant Magnolias and Rhododendron a botanists' paradise. Not to be outdone, the naturalist's can view hundreds of varieties of exotic of birds, butterflies and orchids. It takes six hours before the Bakhim forest bungalow is reached for the night. 8-km and six hours away, each step to Dzongri leads to the world of the famed Kanchenjunga massive. The spectacle at dawn and dusk tinted in softest hues, is one never to be missed - a supernatural vision of ethereal beauty. Overnight at Camp.
4/67 hours, 10kml13km return The trail heads to the Dzongri La (4550m), `small pass to the west of Kabur Peak. The 1 ½ to two hour trek, with a steady ascent dust before the pass, is rewarded by fine views across to the Rathong Glacier and the peaks that enclose Rathong Valley: Rathong, Fabru South, Kabru North, Kabru Dome, end Forked Peak. Return directly to camp or continue for one to 1 ½ hours to the Rathong Valley for liner views of the spectacular peaks at the Dead of the valley. The trail then heads down the valley before commencing a steep descent back to Dzongri. Take a local guide, as the trail is difficult to follow in places. Overnight at Camp.
7-km from Dzongri, the four hours' trek leads through meadows and valleys down the burrows leads into the most beautiful valley of all situated at the base Jupono peak. To reach the camping grounds dwarfed in the giant valley, one crosses a wooden bridge over the stream under the watchful even of majestic Pandim. Overnight at Camp.
Situated at the base of mighty Pandim, Chemathang is 8-km from Thangsing and takes 6 hours to trek. Overnight at Camp.
Trek to Goecha La [4940m]. Still higher and steeper, is the Goecha La (also spelt as Guicha) pass about 5-km away but taking a good three hours to cover. This is the northernmost and highest point of the trek. Overnight at Camp.
This is the return journey and is spent looking for rare high altitude birds and blue sheep roaming in the wilderness of high cliffs and snows, among the thick and low bushes. Overnight at Camp.
It is a four to five hour climb through Rhododendron forests to the camping grounds. Side Trip to Chowrithang (4380m/14370ft). It is an eight-hour and 10-km trip to the Chowrithang falls at the Rohtang glacier. Here is the base camp of the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute of Darjeeling, world famous as a centre for training would be mountaineers. Splendid views of the peaks, Frey, Koktang, Kabru, Ratong, Chandra Peak and the Kabru Dome are obtained from here. En route one passes the forbidden Kabur Rock, which none is allowed to climb. From Chowrithang a two-hour walk along the glacier leads to the Houe-Chu Lake, the special feature of which is its accumulated milky water. From Chowrithang on the way to Bakhim is Zamling Gaon, named after Tenzing's son and a good place to break the journey. Overnight at Camp.
Jamlingthang (Zamling Gaon). This different route to Bakhim passes through one of the most spectacular forested areas of Sikkim engulfed in the fragrance of magnolias, which is all the more beautiful in the spring when the giant magnolias and more than ten types of Rhododendron are in bloom and the trail runs through the garden of flowers. A leisurely walk of about four hours bring one back to Yuksom. Overnight at Hotel.
Drive to Darjeeling via Peshok Tea Gardens. Transfer to Hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Early morning drive to Tiger Hill for sunrise. On the way back visit the Yiga Choling (Ghoom) Monastery, War Memorial. After breakfast visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Zoological Park, Tibetan Self Help Centre. Evening free to visit the local market and the "Chowrasta" Mall. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel drive to Bagdogra or New Jalpaiguri or Phuentsoling for onward journey. Our representative from Nepal Himalayan Voyages will drive you to the departure point in time for your onward destination.
